The guinea pig saga continues.
I told Eden on Monday that if she wanted the rodent she would have to make the money to get all set up. We figured it would be about $60 for everything. I thought I was safe for awhile. That is a lot of money for a 10 year old especially one that money burns a hole in her pocket. I figured she would blow a bit here and there on candy necklaces, Littlest Pet Shops, gum and such.
Little did I know that this little girl would earn all the money in three days! She sold kool-aide, Popsicles, and ice cream to the neighbors and earned all the money. It did help that her sweet sister Evie (7) gave her $20 for three Otter Pops. She tried to charge me for 2 otter pops for Ella (2) and Gracie (2). I told her forget it since I paid for all the merchandise to begin with that she was selling off. Last night we went looking for the guinea pig. Today we will go buy all the paraphernalia that goes with it and probably get the rodent this weekend. She is so excited and trying to think up a good name. Any suggestions?
When her dad called from camp last night I told him what had transpired this week and he just laughed and said he was game. Good thing because I think we are committed. ;o)
WEEKLY UPDATE:
Lost 1.5 lbs.
Walked 14.5 miles
Really watched what I ate this week. Wendi and I have been walking farther this week...and a little faster.
Running the .2 miles at the end is no big deal anymore. I am hardly out of breath so I think I need to step it up a notch. It feels great!

Good luck with the whole rodent thing. My kids caught a little gopher at our house yesterday...I'm sure they would be willing to sell it to Eden for a great price:)
Way to go on your exercise and weight loss. I love seeing your updates...it really does inspire me. And I'm hoping that one of these days that inspiration will actually turn into motivation and I'll start doing something.
Great job on the weight loss and the exercise!
I think Eden should name her new pet "Replay" because then she could tell people over and over again how she got that nick name! ;)
Also, since she is such an entrepreneur; she should get two guinea pigs, a boy and a girl. Then she could sell the babies and practice for her days as a pet store manager. =)
Way to go Eden! I can sense your un-enthusiasm too! Sometimes pet names all depend on how the pet looks. Really, I think it will be the perfect pet for her. I know Timmary will love to come see it.
Great job on your update of your health and fitness goals! If only I could report the same back to you!!!
Good job Eden on raising that much money, I saw the guinea pig last night it is kinda cute, but I don't want one in my house. Darn I forgot to look at Edens room last night. Good job on the weight loss! Good luck next week!
Oh the fun you will have with your new little family member! Eden sounds like a determined little girl. She knows what she wants and she works hard to get it. Great job on your part for following through on the promise. Hope all goes well as Eden's new little friend joins it's new family.
