Shallowness

The other day I bought a magazine because it had a great haircut. I know that this could very well qualify me as shallow. I am always on the lookout for a great new cut and have a library of hair magazines to prove it. The mag is called Baby Couture (Josie Bissett's hair on the cover made me buy the mag). It is mainly about what is hot for babies, and I mean extreme luxury. It had famous people and their babies modeling clothes and other baby items. "So and So wearing Such and Such", Crazy. I can't believe how much people are willing to pay to dress their babies. Absolutely nuts. And how much better are their strollers compared to mine? It is just a stroller! Anybody have some hand-me-downs they are willing to hand over?

It made me think about what a friend of ours said recently as he has been dealing with his daughter in the hospital for the past four weeks. He said 'God is more concerned about my character than my comfort'. Lord, let me be concerned about my character too.

Very good thoughts on your last few posts. It gives me much to think about and learn from...I think I was having a shallow moment just this morning when I thought to myself,"I should go shopping and see what they have for fall" and then it dawned on me, "my kids already have a lot of clothes, even if none are new for this fall yet".

Thanks Jill! These are great reminders to keep the important things important.

I am officially back on line. I hope to blog soon, but there is a line right now to get on the computer. :) I'll have to post later.

Love, Ginger

So true Jill. I find myself putting way too much stock into what Grace is wearing. When I think about Ana in the hospital for such a long time and how scarey that is for their whole family, it sure puts things into perspective.

I totally agree with you Jill. I have to admit at times I look at those magazines and think wow I would love to have that. I want my family to look nice but I don't think you need to spend a fortune to do it. Or i'm just cheap hee hee.

I came to my computer after having scoped out the hair mags @ Fred Meyer one 1/2 hour ago. I often spend more time on my hair/clothes/toes etc. than on my character. Who of us doesn't spend more time getting ready (only counting our own personal selves...not kids) than we do in prayer on Sunday morning? Yikes! Thanks for the good word girl friend.

ps. I do want to see the haircut you liked and I promise not to copy it this time!tee, hee, hee

HAPPY BIRTHDAY JILL!

I wish I could make the font look more fun and exciting and I wish I could post a little video of me dancing and singing for you... but alas, I am very limited in this little comment box, so you will have to imagine it.

=) Love ya!
