Vacation & relaxing

Ahhh...the beach. I am sure that you are imagining a beautiful sunny day like the picture. Not this year. It has been cold and rainy both yesterday and today. But that is OK. We went to Seaside today and did a little shopping. I should say looking because none of us bought anything worth mentioning. Emma, Eden and I walked around the Cannon Beach shops while Ella napped, Ron surfed the Internet and the other two played in the rec room. Everyone but me is down there right now playing carpet ball or basketball. I have a bit of a sinus thing going and didn't think the racket of the balls would do me much good. So I sacrificed and stayed here alone in the quiet room.

I finished my book, the Shack. (Sorry, no link. Ron's computer has one of those finger touch pad thingys and I am having a hard time navigating it) I don't know what to say about it. In someways it was great. Really stretching my perceptions of God. In other ways I thought it bordered on blasphemous, and a little new age-y. That's all I have to say about that. I am still processing....

Tomorrow is supposed to be a bit warmer and sunny! Yea! So we are planning a day at the beach. Collecting sand dollars and enjoying God's creation. If it is too cold, we will be back here enjoying the rec center.

My first thought was wow, what a great picture ;)! I am glad you are having a great time and can't wait to hear more about it. It rained here today too, so my kids didn't get their fun field day, but they still had a good day. Did you see Steven Curtis Chapman's blog on the rainy day? This just reminded me of it. He said, even though it's rainy outside we can be sunny on the inside (meaning our hearts, not the house) I thought that was a great saying...so if it rains anymore, just remind the kids of that saying!

We thought we were going to float away at MCP...

I'm glad you are able to have a little down time with peace and quiet. Sometimes those sinus things come in handy! :)

Have a great vacation. We will miss you tonight!

I hope your sinuses are feeling better soon too ;)

I am not even sure if I want to read the Shack or not, from what I've heard. There will be a book discussion group I know of through church probably in July, just FYI !

there's something about the ocean.....(reminds me of a song)
truly, though, it makes me feel like I'm on the edge of greatness, you know???
I love how it laps in and out and just touches my toes and makes me giggle or, sometimes I even immerse myself in it completely!
how delicious that feels!!!!
I love the ocean.
Enjoy, my friend, for you, too, are on the edge of greatness.
miss you.

Sounds like everyone is experiencing "cold and rainy." No matter how people perceive Minnesota...it is NOT always snow-covered...the summers get HOT. However, not so much heat so far this summer. Enjoy the rest of your vacation.

Ya I thought the same as you about that book "The Shack" I couldn't believe all the hype about it.

And ya we've only seen the sun once this year so far it seems. But we've been blessed with LOTS of moisture. No wrinkles here!!!

That is a great picture. Hopefully things will look up tomorrow. I have found the most whole sand dollars right after a cold day like that. Maybe your family will be just as lucky!
