I'm a big kid now!
Jamie had a sweet post about her daughter soon turning sweet 16 and how bitter sweet that is. So I almost feel guilty being glad that we are passing a milestone here. Let me rephrase that. I am ecstatic! Ella has officially made the transfer into the big bed! Last night she slept with sister Eden with sister Evie in the top bunk and it could not have gone any smoother. She went right to sleep and did not wake up once. This is huge because in the year and a half since she has been home she rarely sleeps all the way through the night. I have often wondered if she would sleep better if someone was in the room with her and if last night was any indication she just may. I told Ron last night that it felt like I had gained just a bit of freedom with Ella not sleeping right in the next room, but on the other end of the house. The full nights sleep was nice too. Today she went right down for her nap, no fussing or playing around, just right to sleep. It is so nice when it works that way.
This is all in preparation for Eden to move downstairs into her own room. Ella will still share a room with Evie. My Summer projects are coming along. The downstairs bathroom is just about done. I will do the little touch up this weekend. The garden is planted and starting to produce something other than weeds. Eden's room is just about ready to paint (I love that part, so much fun). Still need to work or have the kids work on ripping out the carpet from downstairs. And finally my bathroom upstairs is just a slow project. Ron and I have really been struggling with where to quit the improvements and just finish the job! I think we are getting close. Ron will be in and out of town for the next month so hopefully before the end of August the bathroom will be ready for paint.

WooHoo... sleeping through the night is a fabulous thing! We are celebrating very similar milestones at our house.
Wow! Had you known Ella would do so well, I bet ya woulda had her sleeping with her sisters like a year ago! =) I am still contemplating keeping Grace in a crib until she is five. You know, put her in a big girl bed before her kindergarten buddies would find out and make fun of her... LOL!
I loved it when the kids got to the sleeping through the night stage. I finally felt like I might live! Whose bedroom is in the picture? I love the little flowers on the wall--you are such an artist, Jill!
That is a milestone worth celebrating! The girls look so cute and sweet sleeping together.
Glad to hear your summer projects are coming along so well. I still haven't figured out what my summer projects are...so much I want to do.
What a sweet, sweet photos of the girls sleeping. I love watching little ones enjoying dreamland. I could use some help in the "sleeping through the night" department, too! Was actually thinking of posting a blog entry today asking for advice. Faith is four, we live in a walkout ranch/rambler and both kid's bedrooms are in the lower level. Our lower level is beautifully painted...the newly painted orange family room...and the kids rooms are done, too. That level of the house is completely "done." However, Faith rarely sleeps an entire night in her room. I try and try...rock her in her room, put her right in her big girl bed, last night I even left both dogs in the room with her...one sleeping on her bed, the other on her little loveseat. Nope. She...and both dogs...came into our room again in the middle of the night. I JUST WANT TO SLEEP AN ENTIRE NIGHT FROM START TO FINISH! When I told her last night that she really needed to stay in her room all night she said, "No, mommy. Just for a little bit and then I need to come in your room." I think my biggest problem is her darn cuteness! She talked to Scott this morning on the phone and he asked her why she came in our bed and she said, "Because I just wanted to sleep with you guys!" HELP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Unfortunately she doesn't have a big sister to sleep with...although she does want twins siblings...she and Parker both do...around two-years of age...one boy, one girl. Me, too...but that's a whole different story.
Wow how many girls do you have? 3? And what do you mean when you said, "This is huge because in the year and a half since she has been home she rarely sleeps all the way through the night."?
Was she sick? Did you adopt her?
I too am glad that she can now sleep the whole night in a bed. She's growing up! And even more happy that you get that well needed freedom! :D
We adopted Ella when she was 10 months old. She was born in China.
We have 4 girls and one son.
Alenna is the same way! She will NOT sleep through the night unless she is sleeping with someone. In fact I love it when Annika wants to sleep with her, then I get to sleep! I am hoping that Arianna will want to join in the fun of all sleeping in one bed with her sisters when she gets home!
