Random thoughts

This has been a very busy month. Each time I have sat to do a post I feel empty with nothing to say. When I think I might have something worth while to write, I have no time to do so.

One thing this month that God has shown me came from a MOPS meeting. I used to go to MOPS years ago when my oldest was small. They were having a professional organizer talk so I went to see what I could glean from this guru. In the course of the morning I had the opportunity to talk with a couple young mommies that I did not know. I am sure I was the same way when I was their age. Very idealistic and immature, thinking I had it all figured out. They commented on how marriage was a 50-50 deal and how motherhood should be treated like a 40 hour a week job...hmmm. God has brought me so far. I am glad that I am where I am and that God has taught me the lessons He has in these areas. I am grateful for dear friends that encourage biblical womanhood and not the worlds version of womanhood. That includes dear friends that I have met through the blog world.

I am also grateful that what I hear from my friends and read on the blogs that I read is encouragement and edification of our families. Not tearing our husbands down or complaining. Sure we all have rotten days, weeks, or seasons in life. But those hard times do not rule our lives.

Lord, help us always to have your best in mind. Always striving to be the woman you want us to be for our husbands and families.

I wasn't there but, can smile at the thought that I would have probably had similar feelings as you. Praise the Lord we've come a long way! And praise the Lord we'll continue to with His help. I too always appreciate the blogs, especially when they serve as a spiritual reminder for me of how to live.

I think we must be falling into the category of "aged women"! :) Let's hope we are becoming the kind of women described in Titus:

"The aged women likewise, that they be in behavior as becometh holiness, not false accusers, not given to much wine, teachers of good things; That they may teach the young women to be sober, to love their husbands, to love their children, to be discreet, chaste, keepers at home, good, obedient to their own husbands, that the Word of God be not blasphemed."

Titus 2:3-5

thankfully God is continually teaching us a better way and showing us the abundant life He has for us.

I know it wasn't that long ago...(I'm not THAT old, am i?) that I was probably much like the women you speak of; naive and immature. Thankfully MANY patient and loving Godly women stuck by me. Now I guess it's time to pass on the wisdom of these women to younger moms and wives who need it, as I did (& still do on occassion, I'm really not THAT old, am I?). Your post was an EXCELLENT reminder to me to be more like a Titus 2 women (again...can I be this old?) Great post, Jill!!!
