With hubby's diabetes we are trying really hard to make wise choices with our carbs. Eatting lots of fiber and whole grains trying to keep things in balance as much as possible. His doctor wants his cholesterol down to 70 from the current 150. Oh my! So he is excercising more and I am doing what I can with the meal planning. I still can't believe that he has this disease. I am sure that God has reasons and lessons for us to learn. Have a great week!

I'm sure you are doing a great job as meal planner!! I brought my cholesterol down eating whole grains and lots of fish with Omega 3--definitely not down to 70, though!

What are the side effects of the medication if he has to take it?

The side effects are not that many or severe. It just concerns me to be on a medication for so long since Ron is not even 40 yet. What does 40 years on one of these meds look like?
